Single point current meters

Two types of single point current meters are currently being used for the ASCA project - the Aanderaa current meter (Top) and the Nortek Aquadopp current meter (Bottom).

The Aanderaa single point current meter is capable of collecting current speed and direction data moored at specific depths along the mooring line up to 2.5 m away from the transducer head. The current meter is powered using a specifically designed lithium battery pack and collects data on to a memory card within the pressure casing. Data can be collected in 20 minute intervals for high resolution work.
