The GSN is centered towards post graduate students with a strong focus in long term monitoring of the environment and its ecology.
Only if you are currently registered as a post-graduate student in a South African University and your research matches our focus should you join.
GSN aims to:
a) To create awareness among graduate students about SAEON programmes.
b) Make students aware of gaps in ecological knowledge identified by SAEON nodes
c) To promote and encourage node affiliated research.
d) To encourage students to align their research with SAEON programmes.
e) To stimulate and promote interactions among graduate students and between students and senior scientists, within the realm of SAEON.
f) To provide a network in which graduate students can feel comfortable to share ideas, collaborate with one another, and get a broader understanding of environmental research with an expanded context in which to view their own research.
g) To inform graduate students of career opportunities in line with SAEON’s objectives as they become available.
