“A platform to encourage networking among postgraduate students to promote long term environmental monitoring for a sustainable future"

The Graduate Student Network (GSN) is a network comprising of Honours, Masters, PhD and Postdoctoral students. It aims to encourage, engage, build and promote sustainability, academic excellence and communication among post-graduate students in South Africa through research projects that are in line with the South African Environmental Observation Network (SAEON). Through SAEON, the GSN seeks to encourage students to link and channel their research to deliver long-term reliable data for scientific research and inform decision-making; for a knowledgeable society and improved quality of life. The network facilitates and creates a platform for participation, knowledge sharing, networking, collaborations and contributions to long-term environmental research and monitoring aligned with SAEON’s mandate in order to detect, translate and predict environmental change in South Africa.
