Jessica Els - Indibano Logistics Coordinator
Jessica Els is a MSc student registered at the Nelson Mandela University in Port Elizabeth and is affiliated with SAEON, Elwandle Node. Her research focusses on quantifying ecosystem services of salt marsh and seagrass in the Swartkops and Knysna estuaries. More specifically looking at their contribution to blue carbon and the potential of these habitats to act as filters for nutrient pollution. She is supervised by Professor Janine Adams and Dr Lucienne Human. She is passionate about her research and the natural environment in general and hopes to ensure that it is used sustainably for future generations to benefit as well. Next to building her career, she loves interacting with people and spending time riding the trails of PE and surrounds on her mountain bike.
