The GFW node currently has four funded permanent posts; the Node coordinator (Sue); two technical posts, one focusing on botanical work (Paul) and the other focusing on instrument arrays and technical work associated with the nodes observation platforms (Kent); and an admin clerk (Busii). In addition to permanent staff, the node hosts an active internship program. Graduates are encouraged to apply through the DST NRF Intern online application system for fields in hydrology, ecology, botany, librarian science and data and information management. We are fortunate to also host SAEON’s observation scientist specialist Professor Tim O’Connor who assists in guiding the node's academic focus as well as supervising students associated with some of the node projects. Professor Colin Everson who has a rich history in grassland ecology and hydro-met projects at the nodes sentinel sites is also hosted at the node.
