NMMU - Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University

SAEON Elwandle Coastal Node has strong links to NMMU due to:

- Proximity of the university to the Algoa Bay Sentinel Site
- Strong coastal research focus (e.g. sandy beaches, rocky shores, estuaries, etc.) and host to the SARChI on Shallow Water Ecosystems
- Four SAEON staff members are Research Associates at the Coastal and Marine Research Institute (CMRI)
- SAEON Elwandle Coastal Node serves on the Advisory Board of the CMRI
- SAEON, NMMU and SAIAB signed a MoU on 26 August 2013
