Kyle Cooper 2015/16

I am a physical oceanographer and finished my Masters in Ocean and Atmospheric science at the end of 2014. It focussed on assessing ocean reanalysis datasets from the Naval Research Laboratory (United States) and MyOcean 2 (European Union) institutions. This would provide a method of assessing a  a local high resolution ocean forecasting system, which is is under development.
I have a number of projects under my responsibility at SAEON, which includes publishing my Masters in a scientific journal, collaborating with the Council of scientific research to investigate the GoodHope Jet, assist in the running of the South African Marine Research and Exploration Forum, assist students with data processing techniques, and investigate the coastal moorings from the ACT data.
