What sort of pollution could we expect?

1 Addition of sewage.  How is this expressed?  As nutrient enrichment?  ( Nitrogen - in what form? and phosphorus - in what form?) Or are there any other markers or pollutants ( E coli?).  What about lowering of oxygen in the water?  Is sewage pollution accompanied by a point source of addition of water ( for flush toilets?)

2 What other pollutants?  What about pesticides?  And what about oil ( Hydro-carbons?)?  Are there any specific pollutants associated with any special activities - such as generators or water pumps?  Or detergents, or car wash chemicals?

3  Do we consider salt penetration up the estuary in the same way as a pollutant spreading?

4  Do we consider litter at all?

We need to census people and homesteads/businesses - and find out about sewage and waste disposal.  Is there any pollution relating to the forestry industry? Do we consider alteration in soil pH?
